The North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) reports a record 208,722 student-athletes, with significant growth across sports, including nearly 30,000 basketball participants.
March Madness Fever and NIL Opportunities
March Madness inspires Carolina high school athletes. NIL deals offer new opportunities, with an average value of $2,716 and total earnings reaching $21,331, allowing athletes to capitalize on their talents. Top basketball players are securing high-value endorsement deals with major brands, often reaching six-figure sums, especially for athletes with large social media followings. Additionally, the rise of NIL collectives and diverse revenue streams, such as partnerships with online gaming platforms, are further maximizing athletes' earning potential.

Marvin Wilson, founder of the Wisdom Foundation, introduces "Business of Basketball" in Charlotte, featuring two days of networking, competition, and entertainment. Wilson's ventures, including EZTixx and Funding Credit, underscore his impact on Charlotte’s business and entertainment scenes.
Value of Business of Basketball Symposium
The "Business of Basketball" symposium is invaluable for student-athletes and parents in the age of NIL. Events like the NCAA Elite Student-Athlete Symposium have shown that such gatherings provide essential tools for navigating the transition to professional careers, including financial literacy, working with sports agents, and decision-making strategies. Additionally, the symposium offers networking opportunities with industry experts, former professional athletes, and NCAA staff, which are crucial for building a successful career in sports.

Wisdom Foundation recently partnered with Funding Credit and Boys To Men Foundation to develop our Summer Youth Empowerment Program.
In our latest program initiation, we had a few young men embarked on an exciting journey at Concord Mills Mall. Before diving into a real-world experience, they first participated in a brief but impactful financial literacy introduction course in a classroom setting. Recognizing the significance of financial literacy in navigating adulthood, The Wisdom Foundation ensures a holistic approach to empowerment.
Armed with newfound financial knowledge, the group then ventured out to one of Funding Credits' Kiosk Stations within Concord Mills Mall. This hands-on experience was more than just an outing; it was an opportunity for them to apply their new knowledge, engage with the public, and share valuable information with those interested.
Our participants took center stage, confidently approaching visitors to share insights and share information. The experience was not just about conveying facts; it was a chance for these young leaders to connect with the community, fostering a sense of responsibility and communication skills that extend beyond the classroom.
Wisdom Foundation’s Summer Youth Empowerment Program goes beyond traditional education models. It is about cultivating skills that will serve these young men in all aspects of their lives. Leadership and communication are tools that empower individuals to make a positive impact on the world around them.
